To qualify, applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, be enrolled in a recognized two- or four-year college or technical program related to music, sound, or event technology, and be in their sophomore year or higher. Recent fall graduates may also be eligible . Applicants are required to submit a resume, recent transcripts, two recommendations (one from a faculty advisor), and a short essay or video sharing how their music or technology pursuits have shaped their career goals and how attending the show supports those goals.

Applications open in mid-April, close in early September 2025, with notifications expected by October. Recipients will be required to attend professional development events and submit a post-event report by early February.
